One of the most common questions we receive at Pink Wave is: “What happens during the interview?” For many candidates, it’s the most intimidating part of the entire application process. They worry about saying the wrong thing, they wonder if they have enough experience, they ask themselves whether they are really suitable for the role. The truth? Most of the time we’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for potential.
At Pink Wave, the interview is not an exam. It’s a conversation. Of course, we want to understand your background, skills, and experience — but most importantly, we want to get to know you. Because working in tourism entertainment is about much more than what’s written on a CV. It’s about attitude, energy, and communication. It’s about how you connect with people. The interview helps us understand whether a candidate is ready to thrive in an international resort environment.
Not necessarily. Every season we select candidates who have never worked in entertainment before. Some come from sports, some from hospitality, some are university students, some have completely different professional backgrounds. Experience can be helpful, but motivation, positivity, and willingness to learn often matter even more.
Every interview is different, but there are some topics that come up frequently. We may ask:
There are no perfect answers. What matters most is being genuine.
The best preparation is surprisingly simple. Take some time to learn about Pink Wave and how we work, understand the role you’re interested in, reflect on your personal strengths, and think about what truly motivates you. You don’t need a rehearsed speech and you don’t need to pretend to be someone else. The candidates who make the strongest impression are almost always the ones who show up as themselves.
Many candidates think recruiters focus only on technical skills. In reality, the qualities we value most go further than that. Communication skills: can you interact confidently with guests and colleagues? Positive attitude: do you bring energy and enthusiasm to the team? Adaptability: can you handle new environments, different cultures, and unexpected situations? Team spirit: are you willing to support others and work together? Reliability: can people count on you? These are the qualities that often make the difference between a good candidate and a great one.
If the interview goes well, the next steps are clear and straightforward. We talk through available destinations, the roles that could be the right fit for you, how the contract works, accommodation, meals, departure timelines, and all the practical information about the season. At Pink Wave, we believe every candidate should know exactly what to expect before making a decision. Transparency is part of how we work.
Trying too hard to impress. Over the years we’ve interviewed hundreds of candidates. The people who stand out are rarely the ones with the most polished answers — they’re the ones who are genuine, the ones who show curiosity, the ones who are truly excited about the opportunity. The ones who are willing to learn.
What should I wear for the interview? Something clean, appropriate, and professional. There’s no need for formal business attire — just make sure you present yourself in a neat and respectful way.
Is the interview in English? We adapt to the candidate — interviews are mainly in English, but depending on the role and where you’re from, part of the conversation may also take place in your native language.
How long does the interview last? Typically between 30 and 45 minutes.
Can I apply without previous experience? Absolutely. Many of our entertainers started with no previous entertainment experience at all.
What if I’m nervous? That’s completely normal. Remember: we’re not trying to catch you out. We’re simply getting to know you.
If you’re preparing for your first entertainer interview, don’t focus on being perfect. Focus on being yourself. Skills can be taught, experience can be gained, and confidence grows with time. But authenticity is something no recruiter can teach — and it’s often exactly what makes the difference. At Pink Wave, we’re not just recruiting entertainers.
We’re looking for people ready to grow, challenge themselves, and create unforgettable experiences for others. And every journey starts with a conversation.
We’re not looking for the perfect candidate. We’re looking for the right one.
Quelli disposti a imparare.
Posso candidarmi senza esperienza?
