ENTERTAINING IS...

Tourist entertainers do a new kind of job in the field of tourist accommodation.

Entertainers working at an hotel take care of guests during their holiday, give them assistance and help creating a pleasant environment to let them enjoy their holiday.

It is possible to choose among a wide variety of jobs involving different activities and responsibilities, such as:

• Sport activities: football, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, bowls, darts, etc..
• Fitness activities: soft gym, aerobics, step, stretching, dance lessons, water gym, etc..
• Crazy games: cocktail game, Olympic games, pool or beach games, etc..
• Mini-club activities: specific programs to entertain children aged between 4 and 12 years

Entertainers do a teamwork. They must stick to the rules, regulations and programs set by the responsible for entertainment.

Entertainers work 3 to 8 months, they earn a wage and enjoy board and lodging.

To work as an entertainer you are not required to have any specific qualification. It is only necessary you have concluded compulsory education to ensure a minimum level of basic general knowledge.
Entertainers must be aged between 18 and 30 years, they must be polite and know at least one foreign language.
Entertainers are required to have creativity, fantasy, self-control and organizational abilities, to bear stress and tiredness and to be cheerful, spontaneous and dynamic.
It is also very important they are patient and understanding, open-minded and balanced and available to travel long distances over long periods of time.

After the selection and stage they can discuss about the different jobs with the human resource manager.

The available jobs are:

• Chief entertainer (minimum experience required: 4 full seasons)
• Mini-club entertainer
• Sport entertainer
• Fitness entertainer
• Stage designer
• Choreographer
• Sound & light technician/DJ

To work as an entertainer is a charming and fascinating experience both for those who do it for one season only and for those who choose it as their real job.

Attention: it is a hard job involving many hours a day.
